Inclusive United

Giving more disabled Londoners the chance to take part in sport

Limited opportunities to take part in sport are a key reason why 3 out of 4 disabled Londoners are classified as inactive. Launched in 2013, our Inclusive United initiative aims to reduce the barriers to participation faced by people with a range of physical and mental health impairments.

By bringing together London’s clubs we’re able to deliver innovative projects that increase participation and share best practice. Supported by the FA, the Wembley National Stadium Trust and London Sport, the project currently works with 12 of the city’s professional clubs, providing new sporting opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

It works with local county FA’s and grassroots clubs to ensure capacity is built within clubs to increase participation in the future through the delivery of disability awareness training and specialist sports coaching.

Projects supported by the Inclusive United initiative include:

A monthly Deaf Football Development Academy led by Brentford Community Sports Trust for 8-16 year-olds in West London and surrounding areas.
Inclusive Lives. Regular pan-disability futsal sessions delivered by Fulham Foundation in partnership with the local YMCA
The London Amps Group. Weekly amputee football sessions led by Arsenal in the Community.
A disability football summer holiday programme for 5 to 16 year-olds set up by the QPR Trust and the development of a new local disability team, Ruislip Rangers.
